Surprise, surprise! I've submitted something! :faint: A shocker, I know. Haha. :D
But I found my lil digital camera stuffed way down in the deep, dark abyss that is my suitcase. lol. And I had some time to spend with my laptop and wireless internet. Add all that together with a finished drawing and presto! Inspiration! I've submitted something! Yay! :la:

I used some of burdge bug's drawings as reference for Cleo's and Tut's poses. Well, okay... reference where Cleo's concerned. For Tut, I just made a few changes to one of her drawings. But this was a while ago. I try not to do that anymore. And I've gotten better at my people drawing skills. :) Luxor the cat, I drew him myself. I've always been great at animal drawings. And that background. I'm pretty proud of that. The coloring's nothing special, but still, it's an actual background. Holy crap. Usually I'm too lazy to even attempt one. lol.

This is supposed to be fan art for the cartoon 'Tutenstein.' I used to watch it all the time back when it was on the air every Saturday morning on Discovery Kids. :D Ahhh... good times...

Anyone who's seen the show is probably wondering what's up. The only character that's remained the same in this drawing is Luxor, the awesome and hilarious talking cat. (what can I say? He's a cat. He already looks perfect.) And I know if you know the show, you're wondering if the guy is really Tut (Tutankhensetamun or 'Tutenstein', which ever you choose to call him.) and what the heck happened. Why isn't he a ten year old undead mummy? Well, I don't have details, but somehow he got another chance at life. It's not my story idea, so I'm rather in the dark too.
I like how his outfit turned out though. Truthfully, when I was first asked to draw this, I had no idea what in the world a human teenage Tut in the modern world would even wear. I went with lots of blue and gold, since that's what he wore in the show; the blue nemes headress and the gold collar breastplate thing. Ancient Egyptians wore a lot of white too, or at least that's the impression I got, so I made his jacket white. I gave him blue jeans because he does an awful lot of running around; having fun, wreaking havoc and what not. And also saving the day from evil demons of the Underworld, since he's the protector of the world and all. *sigh* A pharaoh's work is never done. lol. ;P
Why is he wearing a hoodie and a jacket in the middle of the Egyptian desert? Good question. My guess would be because he's the pharaoh, ruler of all he sees, he who is all that is, etc., etc., etc. Therefore, he can wear whatever he wants. And he probably enchanted them with a spell so he doesn't overheat wearing them in hundred degree weather. It's probably how he keeps that white jacket so clean too. Show off.
And he probably has the Scepter of Was out in public waving it around with out a care because he feels like it too. *sigh* Whatever will we do with that boy? Good thing he has Cleo and Luxor to look out for him. hahaha. Ah, who am I kidding? Those of us that loved that show wouldn't have him any other way.

Speaking of Cleo, Cleo's pretty much the same, except she's older here obviously, and her style here's... a little more... laid back? But I kept her signature colors and hairstyle. I love that hairstyle. And I love orange and purple together. :la: Let's consider this outfit to be her casual 'Adventuring' clothes. Yep, those are purple jeans. Not something I'd wear, but they look good on her. :) She's got her own style, I'll give her that.
Some people out there don't like Cleo as a character, but I've always liked her. :) She's not perfect, but neither is Tut, and they both have sass and spunk. In spades. Which means she can keep up with Tut, his spoiled and impulsive ways, and the crazy life he has. And she's able to handle whatever's thrown their way. She's also very loyal to Tut and Luxor. She's there for them when they really need her, even if it wasn't something she was sure she wanted to do at the time. (Like when Tut and Luxor would call her up and wake her in the middle of the night for something, or when Tut would request some outrageous favor, or when he needed a place to crash for a while.) Sure, she acted like a jerk sometimes, but she and Tut really know how to push each other's buttons, and she was suffering from peer pressure too. She's only 12 in the show, cut her some slack. She was still learning, just like Tut.

What really matters is that through thick and thin, all three of them remain the best of friends. No matter how many arguments they have or crazy situations they get themselves in. They can all have fun together and they can also count on each other when they need it the most. They rely on each other's strengths and cover for each other's weaknesses. They're a team. The three of them are inseparable. :) That's one big reason why I've always thought this show was so awesome. :D (That and all the Ancient Egyptian stuff is pretty awesome.)
Okay, my lil' rant's over. ;)

This picture is of the trio of friends on a trip to Egypt. That's a tomb behind them, yes. They were off exploring, or scouting for magical disturbances, or looking for escaped demons, or whatever you want. Either way, they stopped for a quick photo before they headed back home or wherever. Maybe that's why Tut has the Scepter out. To be prepared for anything, or just to open a portal back home or something. He does seem fond of making portals. ;) Anyway, a picture for the photo album! Too bad Luxor's not looking at the camera like he's supposed to. *groans in frustration* Almost a perfect shot. Oh, well.
Cats. Where would we be without them? lol.

Okay, enough chatter from me.

I made this with a mechanical pencil, a sheet of copy paper, a black pen for outlines, other colors of pens for color and texture, a metalic gold marker for all the gold, and colored pencils for all the rest.
I didn't know whether to put this under Fan Art's 'Cartoons & Comics' category, or under Fan Art's 'Fanfiction section.' Since technically it isn't a fanfic. Yet. Just an idea that's being thrown around. One of my best friends is obsessed Ancient Egypt and with this show, and she has this idea for a fanfic that she would like me to write for her. We'll see. I'm currently already writing a fanfic, so we'll see. (She's got a good idea, but she needs a PLOT. We'll work on that, and see where it leads.) ;)

later!
